Downtown (2020)
My work for this project explores the connection of memories to places through landscape photography due to my interest in exploring downtown Lebanon. This piece was influenced by my desire to explore the small town I grew up to a much deeper extent than I had before. This semester has more than ever challenged me to become even more aware of my surroundings and living at home has allowed me to look even closer at where I grew up. Not only did I learn more about its rich history but also how it influenced all the people around me.
Lighting Cycle (2020)
This series of photographs was inspired by the want to explore the presence and absence of light in a natural setting specifically focused on its effect on nature during different times of the day. The setting was chosen to provide a breath of fresh air during this unpredictable time and allow the viewer to take a break by taking in nature.
Money Money (2020)
Currency has a different meaning to everyone who possesses it. For this work, I used a twenty-dollar bill and did multiple trial photoshoots to investigate how people chose to hold the bill when I gave it to them. Then for the final shoot, I re-photographed those positions.
